Happy Talk Like a PIRATE Day 2018!

This week in the #tlap chat (8pm CST every Monday night!) we had the crew take my PIRATE acronym from Teach Like a PIRATE and completely rebuild it and personalize it for themselves. It was a fast, furious, and fun night and there were so many incredible answers for what the letters could stand for that I asked the chat host, Tara Martin (author of Be REAL), to create this awesome graphic illustrating the responses. The bigger the word…the more times it was mentioned by participants.

By the way, this would be a great addition to a book study of TLAP and has already been adapted for that purpose by Lisa Weiss from Pennsylvania. She had participants brainstorm their personalized acronym choices and place on cutouts of the letters as seen in the image below.

Great idea, Lisa!! (And she implemented this the VERY NEXT DAY! Love it!)
